Senator Nelson statement on passage of Senate carbon-free bill

Senator Carla Nelson (R-Rochester) today issued the following statement about the passage of Senate File 4, the 100% carbon-free by 2040 mandate.

“Minnesotans deserve an energy approach that is clean, affordable, and reliable. ‘100% carbon-free by 2040’ sounds good in theory, but in practice, it will reduce the reliability of Minnesota’s energy grid; increase blackouts; and lead to higher utility bills, with the average electric customer paying an increase of $86 per month. Minnesota families and businesses deserve better.”
